In 2012, Mason-Rice will hold it's first Student Science Fair. ANNUAL BOOK SWAP:  Our annual book swap is a way to circulate old books among fellow students and encourage our children to read and to share their love of reading (and their books) with their schoolmates.  Periodically throughout the year, parents will be asked to donate age appropriate children's books that their children no longer read.  These books will be collected and stored until close to the end of the school year.  Then, for one week, ), the donated books will be displayed and each child's class will be given an opportunity to view these books and select a certain number of books to take home with them (in the past, children have been permitted to take home 2-3 books, depending on how many books are collected).  Books that are not chosen by our Mason-Rice children are then donated to schools or communities less fortunate than ours.  Check our School Calendar for BooK Swap drop and classroom visits.

Crystal Lake in the Classroom:  The PTO funds programs at each grade level that incorporates current grade curriculum activity with a visit to Crystal Lake to enrich that curriculum and foster in our children an appreciation for this beautiful part of our neighborhood.
