Each year, two parents of kindergarten children who also have older children at Mason-Rice volunteer to be Kindergarten Liasions to help answer any questions you may have.  They also work with teachers to provide information for September, schedule Summer Playdates and Welcome Meetings for new families.  In 2011-2012, contact Kristin Holson or Niki LaCamera.

Kindergarten Information Night (event held in second week of February each year)
All incoming 2012-2013 Kindergarten parents and guardians are invited to attend the Mason-Rice Kindergarten Information Night on Thursday, February 9th from 6:30-8:30pm.   Please join us if you are enrolling your child(ren) in Kindergarten for Fall 2012.

This event is intended to introduce parents to Mason-Rice and the Kindergarten school year.   You will meet members of the school staff and have a tour of the Kindergarten classrooms. Join us for our Reception at 6:30pm.  Welcome session will be hosted by Principal Mark Springer, starting at 7:00pm in the Mason-Rice Auditorium.

Kindergarten Orientation (Thursday before school starts)
All students attending the current Kindergarten year at Mason-Rice are invited to attend the Kindergarten Orientation. It is hosted by the Kindergarten Teacher to provide your child(ren) an opportunity to meet their teacher, visit their classroom and meet new friends.   This orientation will be scheduled on the Thursday before school starts. 

The Agenda for the day is as follows:
*10:00am  Welcome! Check-In at Mason-Rice Garden (Rain Location: Gym)
*10:15am   Children* assemble by Class/Teacher for a quick classroom tour/song/story  (*Parents are encouraged to let children go independently)
*10:20am   Parent/PTO Discussion near Check-In Area
*10:45am   Children return to Garden for snack & pick-up 

Kinder-Club
Kinder-Club is a 2 or 3 day PTO program, organized by parent volunteers to welcome incoming kindergarteners to Mason-Rice. It includes a "Welcome to Mason-Rice" package, a crafts activity, book readings, tours of the school, and other activities designed to make our newest members of the school feel welcome and comfortable. 2012 Kinder-Club is held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, during the second week of May.
