Mission Statement for the Human Differences (HDC) Committee: "Our mission as members of the RHD Committee is to actively support and create activities that improve our understanding and respect for the diversity within our school, community, and the world so that all our families are empowered to ensure that children develop and achieve to their fullest potential.”
The HDC/Anti-Bullying Committee meet monthly to discuss issues of diversity and inclusion at Mason-Rice. All parents are invited to attend these open meetings. Learn more about Anti-Bullying initiatives.
Activities of the HDC/Anti-Bullying Committee include:
- plans events such as the "Not in Our Town" and "That's a Family" movie nights
- plans and organizes book discussion nights
- plans the "Children as Allies" book discussions on of the evenings at the Book Fair. Books are ready aloud in small group settings in a classroom where children and adults can discuss the book.
